The Position
2026 Summer Intern - Computational Science - SCI

We passionately develop software for medical devices and comprehensive healthcare platforms which contribute to the advancement of patient healthcare.
Department Summary
The department specializes in software solutions for diagnostic medical devices in which our team contributes towards multiple layers of various product solutions. This includes designing and developing solutions for software components and systems that culminate in applications built for healthcare professionals to research and diagnose the needs of our patients.
This internship position is located in Pleasanton, CA, on-site / with flexibility 1-2 days remote.
The Opportunity

Design an application from scratch including: UI (user interface) & UX (user experience)

Develop a software solution that includes software architecture concerns of backend and frontend components

Responsible for the delivery of a full-stack software solution to assist with research and development of tool(s) to assist end-users for our research and development teams (hardware engineers & research scientists)
Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are
Required Education:
You meet one of the following criteria:
-
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
-
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
Required Majors:
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Required Skills:
-
2 years of relevant coursework in the field or adjacent to computer science and software engineering

Experience with an object oriented programming language e.g. Java, C/C++, C#
-
Experience with a database technology e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL

Experience developing a user interface
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with a scripting language e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, python

Experience programming with a user interface framework e.g. Angular, React, Vue - Experience with development in a LINUX environment (including distributions e.g. Ubuntu or Debian)
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $45.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
