Sphere Technical Production Summer 2026 Student Associate Program - Las Vegas

Sphere is looking for a Student Associate to support the venue technical production department in Las Vegas. The associate will have the opportunity to shadow multiple disciplines within the technical production department, with an option to select an area of focus which aligns with their current studies. Areas of focus include video, audio, lighting, automation and rigging, and creative technology.

Working in collaboration across the various disciplines within technical production, this role will be embedded within the department as a full member of the team, focusing on hands-on application of skills with tangible contributions to shows at the Sphere. Ideal candidates will be personable, dependable, self-starters who have a strong work ethic and act with a sense of urgency. They will have the ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize and will anticipate the needs of their department and work proactively. Existing work experience in backstage live entertainment is a plus. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Technical Production. Daily duties will be assigned by each Sphere production discipline leader and will relate to the unique needs of each discipline to support the show.

What will you do?

· Assist collaboratively with the Senior Director, Technical Production to execute standard operating procedures for operating, programming, and maintaining Sphere production systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

· Assist technical production team for the successful load in, rehearsal and changeover of internal and external events.

· Involved with teams of specialty production system operators and programmers and oversees general maintenance of systems including but not limited to video systems, audio systems, broadcast infrastructure, rigging and automation infrastructure and equipment, and production lighting systems.

· Involved in, maintaining, and safeguards the technical assets of the Sphere, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, video, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage facilities.

· Assist in design, sets up, maintains, and operates lighting, video and sound systems for attractions, residencies, events, and other productions and projects; assists guest designers and artists with technical matters

· Assist with third-party production managers, lighting, video, and sound designers, on the technical specifications and usage of technical equipment required for the individual show.

· Involved with collaboration with Sphere Studios to ensure proper coordination of show programming in advance of live events.

· Attends technical rehearsals, to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the mounting the show.

· Produce a “capstone” presentation at the completion of the summer associate program which showcases skills learned throughout the program

What do you need to succeed?

· Undergoing current studies in live entertainment production, previous work experience is a plus

· Eagerness to learn the Sphere production processes, workflows, and standards

· Comfortable engaging with supervisors, leads, production executives, and artists

· Excellent skills in collaboration and communication both oral and written

· Ability to work at heights

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office

· Must possess a professional attitude and demeanor

Student Associate Requirements

· Undergraduate candidates with a class status of junior or senior

· GPA of 3.2 or above

· Provide a letter from your school verifying enrollment

· Available to work a minimum 21-hour work week and a maximum 35-hour work week (35 hours required for the summer semester)
