Research Intern
Description
Two Six Technologies is seeking a Software Engineering Summer Intern to research and develop next-generation technologies for mobile communications and networks. We are seeking candidates that have an interest in research as well as a commitment to developing solutions for the real world. You will join a small, supportive team that values cooperation and creative spirit.
What you will do:

Actively participate in research programs focused on advancing technology in the areas of security, privacy, and resilient communications on mobile platforms

Become intimately familiar with all aspects of what goes on inside of today's smartphones, including the hardware, kernel, drivers, framework, and apps

Design and develop custom software solutions on mobile phones and other resource-constrained platforms, e.g., single-board computers
Minimum qualifications:
-
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

1 year or more of professional or academic software development experience in the C++ or Java programming languages

Familiarity with standard Linux software engineering tools, e.g. git, gcc, make

Eligible and able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
Nice to have:
-
Experience with Android app development using Java or Kotlin

Experience building or modifying Android or other mobile operating systems

Experience with network protocol development

An active DoD clearance (Secret or above)
Clearance qualifications:
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance up to Top Secret
